Silence: A Poem
Your silence can be
deafening
threatening
enveloping
Your glazed eyes are
distant
resistant
nonexistent
You build walls to
deflect
disconnect
redirect
I reach out to
feel for you
appeal to you
heal you
Your fear keeps you
chained
strained
pained
You live inside
your head
stuck in bed
so much unsaid
I long for your
embrace
touch on my face
regular pace
